This all-arts-welcome workshop invites you to explore the dynamic tension between light and shadow—not as opposites, but as co-teachers of meaning. Light reveals, defines, and directs attention; shadow obscures, distorts, and beckons interpretation. Together, they form a language that shapes perception across mediums. Our theme for this round is inspired by the shift in seasons. During this workshop we will together cross the threshold of the autumn equinox, where day and night balance for a moment before yielding to lengthening shadows. Whether you aim to complete a project, start something new, or vibrate somewhere in-between, our relaxed syllabus and daily prompts will transform this seasonal shift into creative fuel. This is a 22 day intensive online workshop. We will meet as a group 4 times on Zoom:
Tuesdays, September 8, 15, 22, & 29, from 4-6:30pm EST
Additionally, you will be paired with another artist to sustain a daily correspondence for support as you each work on your respective projects. Be prepared to exchange feedback with an artist working in a different medium from your own. That’s the best part!
Apply with a specific project and plan for how you intend to use the 22 day period.
Space is limited to 12 participants per cohort. Sign up to secure your spot.
